At Vincents we really have been there, done it and got the T-shirt! our history is unrivalled and something to be proud of. John Vincent the founder of what is todays Vincent group of companies started a wheelwrights business in 1840, just 25 years after the Battle of Waterloo!. Over the years since then the business has grown to suit the ever changing needs and demands of emerging markets and to embrace developing technological changes. Vincents Daily Rental started in the 1960's when part of the group included British Leyland dealerships. The hire fleet included some of the first Mini vans and cars. In 1949 Vincent Finance Company was formed for the purpose of developing Hire Purchase. Always in the forefront of market development the company responded to the need for Contract Hire and in 1953 was one of the first firms in the country to launch into this field. By 1968 Vincents Daily Rental were operating a rental fleet in excess of 1,400 vehicles.
